Now, as anyone who was paying attention to the trailer on Facebook will know, this was meant to be about wood.
But I got distracted this morning by telephone call about a very important party, which turned into a volcano of chaos, and near total collapse of all involved (you know those sort of phone calls?) and I thought I’d better go and buy delicious food instead of researching really interesting stuff about wood.
And nobbled the very last bottle of Metatone in Boots in Witney. It restores health and vitality. Well, anyone would feel better – it has alcohol in it and if the huge, empty shelf is anything to go by, Witters will soon be transformed into a place of vitality and health and won’t know itself. I also got a large bottle of Vitamin B complex. Why not? There might still be a party, if peace breaks out, and I’ll need all the vitality going.
Right now, the odds are that there won’t be a party worthy of the name, but we might just about manage a very small picnic …. if everyone is very, very good indeed …. and keeps their heads when all around are losing theirs etc.
I wonder when that Metatone kicks in?
I’ll do wood (it really is very interesting) next time.
Spag bol for supper – when all else fails, spag bol …. helps. And a glass of red.
PS – I’ve read all sorts of blogs by experts on blogging – and am completely bloggled. I’m far too old to start being that clever – so this is likely to take the form of a letter rather than anything else. It might have a book list, it might have a recipe, it might have stuff about wood …. eventually.
PPS – Am on page 57 of SPQR by Mary Beard
Have just finished Dona Leon’s latest Venetian thriller – now on bookshelf and I can’t remember what it is called. But it was good and has a twist at the end.
Enough of this – time to put the pasta on and make a salad.
